Nicole and Chris met 7 years ago, when Chris was out in town and spotted Nicole. He didn’t go up to her that night but instead took his daughter Trinity in to get her nails done (Nicole is a beauty therapist) and asked her out on a date. Sparks flew and they we a perfect match.
They are both heavily involved in the drag racing scene in NZ and Chris is successful with Team Syco 8. When he won a National Burnout title he proposed to Nicole while he was standing on the winner’s podium. Crazy thing is, Nicole always secretly thought it would be the coolest way for him to propose one day and they had never discussed it! So, it was literally a dream come true.
The wedding day was just as big and epic as you would expect from car racing adrenaline junkies!
Nicole got ready with her bridesmaids in town – ever little detail was perfectly thought out. Her dress was gorgeous – I was in love with the tassels detailing on the shoulders.
Chris got ready at home with the guys and by the sounds of things they had a little bit of car trouble, making the morning a little stressful!
The wedding was at the Te Anau airport. Baxter the dog was waiting when the bridal party arrived to walk down the aisle as well. It was a stunning, intimate and emotional ceremony.
Straight after they finished a plane flew overhead and did an aerobatic show. It was amazing! Such a cool surprise for all the guests!
The weather was dicey in the mountains and they had a helicopter booked to get some photos in the snow. We were not sure if we would be able to get up the mountain, but Fiorldland Helicopters came in, picked us up and we gave it a go!
We found this ridgeline covered in snow that looked ok and landed. When the door opened, we got blasted by FREEZING cold wind. Everyone was game to jump out and try to get some photos!
We hiked up the ridgeline (With Nicole in wedge sneakers – that takes some talent!) and managed to get about 10 minutes before everyone was cold and practically getting blown off the mountain. Made for some pretty epic shots though!
We then flew to when the drag cars were parked up to get some burnout photos. The cars are tied down securely so they can’t move. There is a coloured chalk in the wheels so when they spin this cloud of coloured smoke comes up and envelopes everyone. It was not at all what I expected and looked fantastic in the photos.
The reception was held at the Te Anau club – again every little detail was though of and the tables, cake, flowers and food were perfection.
We finished up the night after Chris and Nicole did their first dance to ‘Chasing Cars’ – ugh that song makes me cry every time.
It was such an epic day, to fit that much into a wedding day and not have any major problems was a feat. These two are going to have such a wonderful married life together <3

"Brogan is a magician of photography! We got married in October 2019 and I decided Brogan was the photographer for us after looking through her amazing photo gallery. I was really drawn to the artistic flair and moodiness of her work.
We've never had professional photos taken before and were all a bit nervous about being models! Brogan insisted we do the engagement shoot that was included in our package and we're so pleased we did. She was great at directing us and putting us in natural positions that didnt look like we were posing.
We really pushed Brogan and Amy to the limits on our wedding day. We had so much going on including being on top of a mountain in a hurricane, aerobatic display, burnouts, we were pushed for time and my wedding party were all over the place! I couldnt believe my eyes when we got the photos back! Despite the pressure we put them under they delivered the most amazing arty, magazine worthy wedding photos I've ever seen!
Theyve captured the emotion, the small details, the whole story and not one boring photo amongst the 600 on the USB stick. Not only did Brogan deliver amazing photographs, the care and attention that went into putting together the final delivered package was above and beyond! Plus she was way ahead of the date she said she'd have them to us.
I highly recommend hiring Brogan for your special occasion if you want jaw-dropping photos and a fun relaxed photographer who doesnt mind going the extra mile to get that amazing angle."
