Looking for something fun to do on your hens party in Queenstown? đ„
How about biking into Gibbston Valley and going wine tasting?!
Last week, a group of friends and I picked up some ebikes (electric bikes) from @betterbybikenz in Arrowtown and rode the STUNNING trail through to Gibbston Valley.
The beauty of ebikes is that you donât actually need to do any work - you pedal, but the bike powers itself up hills and you zoom along the flat. It makes this experience accessible to any level of fitness so nobody has to miss out!
We rode the track that crosses 5 bridges over the Arrow River and honestly the views are insane. It feels so good to be looking down on that turquoise water, with the wind in your hair, laughing with your mates.
We rode all the way to @mtrosawines tucked away at the end of the valley.
They have a little tasting room with outdoor seating, lavender and big umbrellas. Itâs like a little oasis away from the main road!
Guy & Anna have @mtrosawines and are such lovely and welcoming people. Anna whipped is some delicious platters (you will work up an appetite after the ride) and Guy gave us a tasting of their wines.
The 2020 Rose was a firm favourite all round, while the 2014 & 2016 Pinot Noirs are what I will be drinking this winter! đ·
There are a bunch of wineryâs & breweries scattered in the valley, so you can bike around and get tastings & food at all of them or just a few. Once you are done for the day, just call @betterbybikenz and they will pick you up! So you can enjoy as much wine as you want.
We decided to bike back to Arrowtown, with some wine and stop at the picnic tables along the way to chill and enjoy the sun.
All up with photo stops it took us 1.5 hours to ride back. This was the BEST day out with the girls and even though this experience is right on our doorstep, itâs something I had never done before!
So if you want to get the gang together for a hens do or girls weekend away - this should be on your to do list đđŒ
