Emma and Mark had a super relaxed and fun filled wedding day at River Ridge Retreat in the Catlins.
Everyone got ready on site which was amazing – it ment there was no rushing around, and guests could all hang out together for the full weekend.
Emma had the most stunning Grace Loves Lace dress which I knew would be perfect in the wind. She has saved a bottle of bubbles from when she and Mark did a Europe trip last year and the girls all got to enjoy a glass which getting hair and make up done.
Mark did some claybird shooting in the morning with the guys before having a few shots of whiskey to calm the nerves.
Emma’s Dad passed away a year ago and there were so many elements incorporated into the day to remember him.
Her brother wore her Dad’s suit and cufflinks & walked her down the aisle. They had an empty seat at the front with his guitar, wedding ring and photos with a ‘reserved for father of the bride’ sign.
Her brother walked her down the aisle, the kids Ruby & Jake following along as well.
It was a really emotional ceremony that ended with a sand pouring – where both Emma and Mark poured sand from their home area into a jab and combined the two.
After congratulations, family photos and a few drinks the bridal party bundled up into cars and we headed off to take photos. There is this beautiful tree lane just down the road from the venue that is perfect to get those more formal photos. We then headed out to Purakaunui Bay where we could all just take our shoes off, run in the sand and have fun.
These are always my favourite photos because there are no rules and we can just enjoy the day for what it is.
The evening meal was back at River Ridge – family and friends gave beautiful speeches before they all hit the dance floor of the end of a pretty fantastic day.
