Sammy & James has the best mid week wedding out in Owaka at River Ridge Retreat. The pair love to be outdoors, having adventures and are keen hunters/divers. So this seemed like the perfect spot to celebrate with loved ones!
James and the guys went off for a swim at Pūrākaunui Bay before getting ready on site. Meanwhile Sammy and the girls had a whole morning of hair and make up.
It was HOT. One of those super muggy days and everyone was working up a sweat just walking down to the ceremony by the river 🥵 The arch was decorated with antlers and a stag head. It all kicked off with Monty the flower/shot boy dancing down the aisle! Then Sammy arrived and James looked so stoked to see her.
They had a beautiful ceremony with vows that had everyone in tears. Then it was time to enjoy the sun! Platters, lawn games, and drinks were had while the bridal party snuck off for photos.
We went to the tree lane first for a bit of shade and ‘traditional portraits’ then headed to the beach! This was play time where everyone kicked off their shoes and just had fun. There were piggy back rides, champagne pops, seaweed tug of war… we could have spent the rest of the day just chilling under the cliffs - it was a blast.
Sammy & James provided all of the seafood & meat for the reception. It was really important for them to be able to feed their loved ones and they had a great time out hunting & gathering it. There were speeches and because it was such a nice evening they did the first dance outside under the festoon lights.
As I was leaving the beer pong table had been set up and the DJ was cranking, so I can only imagine how much of a party the evening was 🥳 Congratulations Mr & Mrs Goodall 🥂
