Best spots to elope in the South Island in 2021

1: Te Anau

This beautiful lakeside town is the gateway to Fiordland. With mountains surrounding the lake and vibrant native forest.

With an endless amount of jaw dropping locations that are within a 30 - minute helicopter flight, you will be totally spoilt for choice. If you are lucky, a couple of cheeky kea's will drop in during your shoot!

2: Queenstown

No matter what the season, Queenstown has the perfect hidden little spot to say your vows.

Whether you want to be up a mountain, down by the turquoise waters of river or in the middle of fresh fluffy snow at the top of a peak.

3: The Catlins

The Catlins are one of Southlands best kept secrets. In just a few hours you can chase waterfalls, explore caves and watch the waves crash from high up above rocky cliffs.

4: Mount Cook

The size and scale of Mt Cook National Park means you can be completely alone to say your vows. With dramatic mountains and glacial lakes – there is something for everyone.

5: Tekapo

No matter what the season, Lake Tekapo is always a startlingly rich turquoise colour. Snow - capped mountains surround the lake and at night billions of stars twinkle overhead.

If lupins are your thing – these fields come alive in mid Nov – Mid Dec. A sea of pastel colour!

6 - Omarama

If you are looking for somewhere totally different – Omarama might just be the ticket. The Clay Cliffs make you feel like you are in America and after a day adventuring, I can totally recommend soaking in the hot tubs overlooking the lake.

7 - Milford Sound

If you are looking for somewhere moody, dramatic and breathtaking no matter what the season.

With mountains, 100’s of waterfalls and lush green forest – it will be a real adventure!
